I have finally determined that my tank needs 1 3/4 tsp. of Calcium Chloride per day to keep my levels at 430ppm. The only thing I can’t understand is why my alkalinity levels remain higher than optimal, even without adding any buffer to the water. I have been dosing nothing but calcium, and my dKh stays around 10.8. I am using salifert test kits. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks.
