The papers presented here provide an integrated view of carbonate platforms, emphasizing dynamic interactions at all hierarchical levels and revealing the limitations of uniformitarian analogy in biotically influenced sedimentary systems. Selected case studies from around the world illustrate aspects ranging from the genesis of growth fabrics to changing patterns of carbonate platform development. The geological record contains a fascinating diversity of reefs and shell accumulations. As with many other biosedimentary structures, their facies characterization requires careful observation at outcrop and sample scale, and in thin-section to provide information about the global geometries, fabrics and textures respectively. This collection of papers encompasses the breadth of sedimentary geometries and facies displayed by Palaeozoic reefs, shell accumulations, and transitional composite deposits. The definition of reefs and shell concentrations has given rise to variations in nomenclature. I have been looking over forums for days trying to decide which to go with. I am concerned more with long term operating costs, and the most productive. This is for a prop system. Right now it will consist of 2 50 gallon rubbermaid stock tanks and a 100g sump. It seems like powerheads (tunze 6025s?) would be cheaper to run consuming only 7 watts. Also less worry of bulkheads failing and getting a closed loop set up right. If anyone has some input please let me know. Thanks!
