How to reduce power used by a reef tank?

My electric bills are killing me, I’m at ~300% of baseline. My power company jacks the rates up x2.5 for use over 200% of baseline and x3 for use over 300%. So I need to get my use down to under 200%.

Hardiest coral and benefits of coralline algae

I am curious for opinions on what the absolute hardiest coral is overall under medium lighting and whether the rest of you think that coralline algae is beneficial in the reef tank beyond the fact that it physically displaces other algaes, and looks nice.

About 8 years ago when I first started my reef tank I came across a web site that I can’t find or remember. On the site they recommend dosing seachem powder products such as Reef complete, Calcium, and kalkwasser in interval times during the week for water that has evaporated! I don’t know...
