new to the forum and have a question
Has anyone ever used the bio media from thier fresh water tank to start the cycle in thier reef tank? I am assuming its the same beneficial bacteria regardless if its fresh or salt but I could be wrong. I can buy salt water already mixed and running in tanks at a lfs and figured I could possibly cheat on the set up/delay etc of cycling if I used old media with bb in it and live rock,already cycled water etc from the lfs.Any opinions would be appreciated greatly.thankyou.
