New tank set up…
I have just filled my 12G cube with 0.026sg water and put some live rock in, i have decided to go with bare bottom this time to make cleaning easier, i am going to get some glue to make the rockwork more stable later when i am happy with the layout, since i have live rock in it which had been sitting in the garage in a bucket of salt water for 6 months, i assume i can use this to cycle the tank, i am going to hang a bag of raw shrimp in the water to speed the process, at what stage do i remove the shrimp? is it a good idea to add that bacteria stuff that they say you can add fish ‘instantly’? although i am going to wait till after christmas anyway before i add any livestock.
It’s been so long since i set up a new tank i have forgotten the best proceedures….lol
