large hitch-hiker crab
I’m honestly stumped with this one. This crab is white with blotchy red all over, no hair. has red eyes but no black claws. Also, one claw is larger than the other. He’s about 2-3 inches and is my biggest hitch-hiker yet. We just bought the new piece of rock yesterday and the guy came out in process of putting him in the tank. I watched him for about an hour and half last night investigating his movements, but he didn’t harm any shrimp, crabs, snails, mushrooms, polyps, NOTHING. He was actually afraid of the shrimp. My original thought was that he was a porcelain crab, but he’s way too big for that and his claws don’t match up, but my thoughts are that he’s straight from the ocean and that’s how he got so big?? any thoughts? I got an okay picture of him last night while he was roaming around.
