high nitrate levels
Ok let me start by saying this tank is a29 gallon it has a 20gallon sump.130 watts of pc a skimmer in the sump and a skilter filter running phosphate sponge. there are no fish in the tank at this time. the tank has been set up for about three years (i know i havnt been very good at maintenance) the tank just went through a cycle (after a big cleaning of rock and gravel).now amonia is at zero nitrites are zero and now nitrates are about 80 or so. my dilemma is i did a 15 % water change and no change in nitrate did another the next day still no change could it be the test kit or is there something im missing thanks for any help anyone can give
