Had a lot of weird things happen lately. My tank is a 55g about three months old. I noticed just the other day that one of my snails kept turning over and finally died. (He had been with me during my cycle.) Well, shortly thereafter my cleaner shrimp molted and then just yesterday my candy coral started looking irritated. I tested my water and all levels were great except my ammonia which was maybe around 1. I did a 20% water change last night and added an extra power head. ( I only had one.)
I get up today, and notice that my pygmy angel (who is normally happy go lucky) is hiding and stressed. I checked on her several times today and she didn’t want to come out of her rock. I turned off the lights hoping this might help ease her stress but she wasn’t moving around much. (Fast breathing, stressed colors) Tonight I decided to turn off the new powerhead and it has seemed to help a little bit. She is now swimming in the bottom of the tank close to the rocks but acting like she is terrified. All test are normal and everybody else in the tank seems ok.
So, is it possible that too much current from another powerhead plus the water change stressed her out? Is there anything I can do to help her come around? Thanks!
