Have some sick zoas here
The top zoa rock pic shows how the zoas looked for about 2-3 months. About 10 days ago, they began a move toward looking the way they do in the bottom pic.
The ONLY change I made to the tank over the past 2 weeks was to add a protein skimmer. No other changes at all. I do twice weekly water changes of 10% as I have always done, water parameters perfect (phosphates zero, nitrates <10, ph 8.4, salinity 1.023). These parameters are what they have always been since day one.
I can’t believe the protein skimmer is removing something that the zoas need. I have another larger rock of different colors and they are doing fine. Any suggestions appreciated.
