I just wonder how many people use some sort of sponge filter or filter sock in their set up. Also if you notice your nitrates affected because of it.
I use a sponge filter that is made for the sump I have, clean it once every week or so and my nitrates stay about 10. I also tried without the filter for 2 weeks and noticed no difference.
