Anyone know how long before my DSB will begin to bring down my nitrates? I added it about a week ago as I have been having nitrate problems (80-100ppm). It is in a 55 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump. I actually have noticed that my corals and anemones seem happier since adding it though my nitrates are still running about 80-100 ppm. I’m not sure if adding the sand (aragonite live sand) will cause a tank cycle or if it just takes a few weeks for the bacteria to populate. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
