I recently bought some live rock that originated in Florida. At first I thought I was lucky and this was some pretty quartz embedded in the rock. However, when I touched it, I found it was squishy (but firm) and super smooth. It gives only slightly (I didn’t push too hard!) like a ripe fruit....

This thingy was nothing but a new red spot on a piece of lr three months ago. Would like to know if it is a danger to anything or what it is called so that I can better take care of it. See the rest here: Big Red
