The Aqua Medic Ocean Light T5/Metal Halide Series of lighting hoods is an economical and flexible spin off of the popular Spacelight line with the addition of T5 fluorescence. All fixtures are made of corrosion resistant aluminum and retain the sleek lines of the Spacelight. The ballasts in the Ocean light series have been moved out of the hood into an external ballast box to reduce the heat and weight over your aquarium. The T5/MH series combines both double ended metal halides and T5 Flurecence into one convienent hood. Bulbs included.Metal Halide lighting systems have long been supplemented by blue fluorescent light sources. T-5 fluorescents are the next generation and have a higher peak operating temperature which makes them an ideal companion within HQI fixtures. Oceanlight HQI+T5 Combo lighting systems elegantly blend the power of halides and the efficiency of high-output T5 fluorescents.
