Anemone Disaster

Just got a green bubble anemone the other day for my two clowns, who have been trying to get cozy in my polyps lately. Anyways I got a great deal 49.99, and brought home the anemone. I placed in in an area of live rock where it immediately seemed to anchor itself. The tank looked great and the clown seemed very interested.

I woke up less than 12 hours later to find a disaster. My whole tank was discolored, and a flame angel could immediately be seen laying motionless in the area the anemone was. Dead!!! But where was the anemone? It had been sucked into a small powerhead about half way up the tank, and shredded to bits. I think the angel might have been stung as the anemone floated to its impending doom towards the powerhead. I did some emergency water changes and the clowns have survived yet another ordeal. (resilient little fish)

Anyways, what a disappointment. Did I do something wrong? This was my first anemone so chances are I did screw up. Not sure I want to get another one if this is going to happen again. Any suggestions? I heard too much water movement is bad for them.

Thanks.

Aaron
